This Friday is the first Friday in November. So you may be asking yourself, what's the big deal? The big deal is that it's that time of the month again for First Friday Art Trail. If you have yet to experience this monthly adventure into the arts, you're in luck because this Friday is your chance. During FFAT, local galleries feature the work of local and visiting artists. To add to the experience, many venues offer complimentary wine and appetizers.

Citibus trolleys even provide free transportation to almost all gallery stops, so save your gas money and ride the trolley. During FFAT, several businesses normally not art galleries open their doors and host art as well. For example, Alderson Mercedes which normally sells luxury cars by day, is transformed into an art gallery every FFAT. Local jewelry maker Sarah Timmons also sets up shop at Alderson where she sells her unique pieces of jewelry.

As we mentioned during last month's FFAT story, if you enjoy art and riding bikes, then you'll want to meet at the Student Rec Center on the Tech Campus prior to First Friday. A group of students meets at the Rec every first Friday at 5:30 PM to ride downtown together. Don't have your own bike? Don't worry; the Outdoor Pursuits Center can rent you one.

So whether you are a veteran of the Art Trail or an Art Trail newbie, there is definitely something for everyone during FFAT. First Friday begins at 6:00 PM and ends at 9:00 PM.
