Do you enjoy sweet treats, awesome music and great fashion? If the answer is a resounding yes to all three, you are in for a treat this weekend. This Saturday November 15, the Treasured Hearts organization presents Treat Yourself, a benefit fashion show. The loss of a child is difficult for anyone, but imagine not having the finances to be able to bury your own child. Treasured Hearts is a local organization founded by nurses at University Medical Center. These caring nurses noticed a need in the Lubbock community for financial and emotional help for families who have lost a child. The organization provides families with grief counseling, baby gowns and blankets, birth certificates, clay imprints of the baby's foot and a comprehensive directory of local funeral homes. Building awareness in the Lubbock community is the first step in the Treasured Hearts cause. With your contributions, Treasured Hearts will be able to help numerous families during difficult times. There are many ways you too can help and you can begin by attending the benefit fashion show this Saturday. The fashion show will be held at 7:00 PM at the Firehouse Theatre located inside the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts. Fashions will be provided by Magenta Gem Boutique, Sassy Kat, 10/20 Boutique, Texas Tech Apparel Design Department and jewelry designs by Erica Dill. The aforementioned merchants will also have tables set up for your shopping convenience. Music will provided by Chris the DJ out of Austin, and Lubbock's very own Daniel Markham. Bakery Creations will provide the scrumptious goodies, while Melt will provide a cash bar. Tickets for the event are $15 or $10 with a college ID. All proceeds will benefit the Treasured Hearts organization. To learn more about the organization, click the photo below to visit the Treasured Hearts website.
